The Folds of “Suddenly”

Folding laundry
by Ryan Hardgrove

and the rain is
coming down
like warm milk
on the glass
adding to it
always adding to it
painting the moment
that special blue-grey hue

only once a day
will a moment
separate itself from the universe

and when it hits
it hits suddenly
the moment frozen somehow
as the rest
of the madness
continues to churn along
separate from this
snow-globe living room

and it is the waiting
that counts
hanging from
all the other seconds
that stitch together our lives
it is all for this
just a shred
of comfort
folding laundry
in the living room

Ryan Hardgrove is a human being, a father, a gardener, and a derelict. His writing is only a by-product of living. That is not to say living isn’t difficult. It is.

I am a dreamer, as well as a doer, who lives in the North Georgia mountains. I started my publishing journey August of 2013, have had moderate success, but my utmost passion is my "daytime" job, which is working with adults who are constantly striving to better their lives as they obtain the GED credential.
