Expletives and The Deflated Expression of Soccer Balls

Poem 2.
by Joseph Altamore

[Unhappy]

in
the garage
shouting at the
partially
deflated soccer ball:

“you stupid ball!you have no right!
your facile
knowledge of reality
does not leave room for sadness! what’s more, how can a mere ball express itself
so much more readily and easily
than I? I long for the ability
to simply become flat in order to
express every facet of my
perennial unrest!
you bastard! you fuck!”

needless to say
I was
frightening
the neighbor kids

I walked back
into
the house

I started my publishing journey August of 2013, have had moderate success, but my utmost passion is my "daytime" job, which is working with adults who are constantly striving to better their lives as they obtain the GED credential.
