October’s Sun makes love with the quietness of Moons

October’s Ruse
by Bianca Bertrand
.
We danced in Momma’s backyard
(all knees and elbows)
never thinking about what would happen
if one day we forgot about “us”

Seasons changed and like leaves
we
fell.
October forgot about us
and December laughed.

The end is here and I am high,
inhaling sublime clouds
and puffy smoke

…yes, that’s what’s burning my eyes
(I promise I’m not crying)
